The following media policy outlines the guidelines and expectations for the use of media (including photographs, videos, and audio recordings) at our dance studio. By enrolling in this shoot, all students and their parents/guardians agree to comply with this policy.
1. NO SHARING OF MEDIA UNTIL ADC HAS RELEASED YOUR FIRST SHOT (or unless otherwise specified)
Mysterious Behind the Scenes shots are absolutely allowed though! And reposting of everything that you are already in that we post on stories. Once it is posted from us you can post it on your media at your leisure!
In regards to other shoot footage - students are not permitted to share any media (including photographs, videos, and audio recordings) taken inside the dance studio or during any studio-related events or performances while the shoot is happening, without prior written permission from the studio. Or unless you have been given vocal go-ahead from shoot team on the day.
This includes sharing on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and any other similar platform. Any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the studio.
This is to protect our brand, the quality of the shot, and the messaging behind it. We will also do our best to have content creators and social media managers who will be there to capture the magic, so you don't have to, and you can just be present in the moment :)
2. STUDIO-OWNED MEDIA
The studio reserves the right to take photographs, videos, and audio recordings of its students during rehearsals and performances, and to use these materials for promotional and marketing purposes. This includes the use of media on the studio's website, social media accounts, brochures, flyers, and other marketing materials. By enrolling in this shoot, all students and their parents/guardians grant the studio permission to use such media for promotional and marketing purposes.
Eg - you shot might be used in an ADC campaign, or printed on a banner and showcased in class one day! If this is not something you feel comfortable with, please let us know.
3. RESPECT FOR PRIVACY
The studio will take all reasonable steps to ensure that media captured during studio activities are respectful of the privacy and dignity of our students. Any media featuring an individual student will be reviewed by the studio's staff before it is used for promotional or marketing purposes.
Eg. we restrict videoing of BTS content during shoots as often we have other dancers/students in makeup/getting changed, on set nervous, or who are school age! So we try to protect everyone's privacy as best we can, and not have it going up on any channels that we are unaware of.
4. REPORTING INAPPROPRIATE MEDIA
If a student or their parent/guardian becomes aware of any inappropriate use of media, they must report it to the studio immediately. Inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to, the sharing of media without permission, media that is disrespectful or violates a student's privacy or dignity, and media that is sexually suggestive or inappropriate in any other way.
eg. in the past some dancers have been in performances in outfits similar to a cheerleading outfit with a lot of high kicks .
Prior to this performance, some students were taking pictures of themselves backstage without the proper attire/shorts on (unaware of this of course, and not on purpose!) . So to make sure nothing accidentally untoward went out across media with our brand name on it, we now make sure our Media Team double check all of these things, and if anyone sees anything that might not be quite appropriate, to please let us know (most likely accidental, as very rarely is anyone posting inappropriate things on purpose!).
We are very aware of our responsibility in our media, working with youth, women, performance and art, and take it seriously!
5. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND CONSENT
By enrolling in this shoot, all students and their parents/guardians acknowledge that they have read and understand this media policy and consent to the use of media as outlined above.
